I am so very sorry losing my neighbor at the Betsy Ross House. We had some good chats about England and her love for horse racing. I came to USA from Luton England when I married my USAF husband in 1954. Gig was a war bride, my husband was the first to go back to England at the outbreak of the Korean war, so we had a lot to chat about. It was so nice to meet her family when they came from UK. We had a nice tea time together . Gig was very proud of her English family and we shared lots of stories together. I have just returned from UK and still had lots of stories to tell her….I will miss her greatly!

I only knew Gig for a short while from living at rye Betsy Ross House in South Portland. She was very interesting to talk to and always had something to say no matter what the subject. I am very thankful that I got to know her. I will always remember her and her love for any kind of race. Rest in peace Gig.
