PORTLAND - Katherine "Kay" A. (Glynn) McLaughlin passed away peacefully on August 5, 2012 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was born September 3, 1930 in Portland, the daughter of William Glynn and Mary Agnes (O'Toole) Glynn. . She was educated in Portland schools and was a proud resident all her life of "Gorham's Corner", where she was known to all the neighborhood as "NaNa Kay." In her later years, she volunteered at the Preble Street Resource Center. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Hollis (Gene) McLaughlin and son, Eugene Glynn. She is survived by her children, William McLaughlin, Mary Ann Benner, Kimberly LeDoux-Deschaine, Kathy McLaughlin and stepchildren, Mary Jean Pyle, Hollis McLaughlin, and adopted daughter Debbie Griffin; as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, August 8th at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Thursday, a 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kay's memory to a memorial fund for her daughter, Kathy McLaughlin and her son, William McLaughlin: c/o Mary Benner, 111 Austin Street, Westbrook, Maine 04092.Online condolences may be expressed below.
