Margaret J. Maasbyll, 79, of Westbrook, died February 22, 2012 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born February 15, 1933 in Medford, Massachusetts, a daughter of Harold J. and Ruth M. (Cragin) Simonds. Margaret graduated from Medford High School in 1950, and shortly thereafter drove cross-country, enjoying the sights and experience with her parents. Margaret worked in the Boston office of S.D. Warren Company until 1960, when she married and moved to Westbrook, Maine. There she raised her family, returning to work in 1973 for the Kelson Real Estate Agency, and then for S.D. Warren Company in Westbrook from 1975 to 1987, where she enjoyed her work and friends in the Engineering, Customer Service and Woodlands departments. Over the years, Margaret loved traveling many places with her children and their families, her sisters and nieces. She much loved and was comforted by all the families' pets. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Arthur R. Maasbyll; by two sisters, Virginia Hobart and Ruth MacDonald, and a granddaughter, Olivia L. Fisher. Surviving are daughter Eileen Shutts of Westbrook, son-in-law Michael Shutts of South Portland and granddaughter Audrey; daughter Ruthanne Fisher, husband William and granddaughters Mia and Kim of Cumberland, grandsons Robert Fisher and wife Kristi McRedmond and great-granddaughter Kinley, and Matthew and wife Jamie Fisher and great-grandson Bently, all of Colorado; son Bruce A. Maasbyll of South Portland and his companion Julie Kilcoyne of Portland; a sister, Carolyn King of Medford, Massachusetts; as well as cousins and nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond. Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 326 Main Street, Yarmouth, on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11 a.m., followed by a luncheon to celebrate Margaret's life at a venue to be determined. Burial will be in Blanchard Cemetery, 215 Winn Road, Falmouth. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 U.S. Route 1, Scarborough, Maine 04074 or Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, P.O.
