South Portland- Henry Peter "Hank" Lombardelli, 72, of Danforth Road, died peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017, following a long illness. His loving wife was by his side. Hank was born in Everett, Massachusetts on April 4, 1945, the son of Henry and Mary (D'Alberto) Lombardelli. He attended local schools, graduating from Melrose High School in the class of 1963 and then the University of Massachusetts Amherst in the class of 1969. In August of 1968, Hank married Nancy J. Fisher in Braintree, MA. Hank started his career as a real estate appraiser in Connecticut. In 1972 Hank and Nancy moved to Maine where he started Henry P. Lombardelli Appraisal Company, a business which he ran for more than thirty two years, retiring in 2004 due to illness. Hank was a leader, and well respected in the appraisal field in Maine and New England, he was a member of the Appraisal Institute, and co-founder of the Valuation Network of Appraisers. Hank was also a longtime member of the Portland Rotary Club and was a dedicated volunteer at Maine Medical Center. In his spare time, Hank was very athletic, he loved skiing, kayaking, hiking, swimming, tennis and golf. He was very active and participated for many years with Maine Adaptive Sports. He was a self-taught artist who enjoyed painting with acrylics, was a semi-professional actor having done a commercial for Amato's and served as stand in for Dennis Farina when he was filming "Empire Falls" in Maine. His greatest love was spending time in the outdoors, painting, but most important the time he spent surrounded by his family especially his children, grandchildren, and wife. Hank will long be remembered as a very personable man, witty, outgoing, with a bit of an Italian temper. Hank was predeceased by a sister, Deanna Selig. He is survived by his wife of forty nine years, Nancy Lombardelli of South Portland; two daughters, Jeanne Marie Lombardelli and her companion Matthew Horak of CA, and Susan Jane Gagnon of South Portland; a son, Justin and his wife Kelley Lombardelli of CA; a sister, Mary Ann and her husband Bill Harney of MA; a brother, Robert and his wife Frances Lombardelli of MA; five grandchildren, Tristen, Lily, Jonathan, Luke, and Mira; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours and a celebration of Hank's life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 11:00am at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel. Burial will be private.   3. I recall many memories of our family’s visits to Maine. Hank loved to take walks, and I enjoyed many of them, especially at the beach and the WW II areas. Hank would cook pork tenderloin on the grill and cover it with Masterpiece sauce, my sons called it “Uncle Hank’s BBQ” and I rolled it into our cuisine, but i couldn’t ever get it as tender as Hank did. Many memories, i’ll miss him.

    We’re so sorry for the loss of Hank. He was such a good man….kind, witty and smart and we’re glad we knew him. Even though he’s been ill for a long time, we know how hard this time is for all of you.
