Mr. Craig A. Libby, 61, of South Portland, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2014. Craig was born on October 1, 1953 in Portland, the son of Calvin and Sally (Huff) Libby. Raised in Gorham, Craig graduated from Gorham High School, Class of 1971. Following graduation, Craig continued his education in the electric field at SMVTI. Craig worked as an electrician for over 45 years, having been the owner and operator of C.A. Libby Electric since 1996. He took pride in his work, and was widely regarded as the top in his field. In addition to his work, Craig enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, NASCAR, golfing and playing cards. He also enjoyed flying helicopters and small planes. Craig had a love for his Dobermans. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for being a jokester. Above all else in life, Craig was a very generous man who loved his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Craig is predeceased by his mother, Sally J. (Huff) Libby; sisters, Catherine Eldridge and Cary Libby. In addition to his father, Calvinis survived by his wife whom he loved more than life itself, Joanna JoJo (Troiano) Libby of South Portland; his beloved daughters, Melissa Marie Goodine and her husband Andrew of Wells, Brittany Elizabeth Libby of Ocala, FL; sister, Gretchen Libby of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by his adored grandson, Aiden R. Goodine; and nephew, Alexander Anastassiou. Visiting Hours for Craig will be held on Sunday from 4-7PM in the Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. His Funeral will be held on Monday at 11AM at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland, PO Box 336, Westbrook, Maine 04098.

Craig was a good friend from grade school right on through our adult life.If I had a job for Craig he would drop what he was doing and come right over to look it over and get it done asap.I know he enjoyed his family,the State of Maine and life in general.My condolences to the family .   3. Joanna, my heart aches for you. Craig was a great neighbor and friend. He will be missed. I have to smile when I think of the days when Kitt and I would be out walking and how we always had to stop to play with Ava. Craig and I got some good laughs out of watching our dogs run around your yard! He really had a soft spot for our four legged friends! May he rest in peace.
