Mr. Joseph W. Glynn, 66, of South Portland, died Friday, November 28, 2014 at Maine Medical Center. Joseph was born in Portland, Maine on September 8, 1948 to the late John and Mary (Cribby) Glynn. He lived the majority of his life in South Portland. Joe honorably served in the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam War era. In his younger years, Joe was employed with Maine Central Railroad at Rigby Railroad Yard in South Portland. Later in life, Joe pursued his passion and became a commercial fisherman. This is a career that he loved. In addition to his work, Joe enjoyed camping, boating, brook fishing and spending time with his beloved granddaughter, Charlotte Fifield. In addition to his parents, Joe is predeceased by his brother, John Glynn, Jr. He is survived by his lifelong partner, Donna Henick; daughters, Dawn Cormier and husband Sean of New Gloucester; Shannon Tellefson and husband Robert of Gray, brother, Kevin Glynn and wife Tamara of South Portland; 4 additional grandchildren; dear friends, Jim Papasan Parker, Quirino Skip Lucarelli and several other close relatives and friends. Honoring Joes wishes, no public services will be held. A private family service will take place at a later date.
