GORHAM - James B. Fox, Jr., 74, died on March 26, 2013 at the Gorham House. He was born in Hackensack, NJ on March 1, 1939, the son of James B. and Anna Coggeshall Fox. Jim graduated from Falmouth High School, the class of 1957. In his youth, he worked part time at a variety of settings and full time for over 29 years at the Sea Side Nursing Home in their kitchen from 1972 to 2001. Although he struggled throughout his life with health issues, he developed a number of interests. Most notably, he shared his dad's love of fishing and enjoyed many fishing expeditions with him along with his brother Tom. He also loved history. In fact, he made himself an expert on the Civil War. Jim also learned a great deal about Indian history and artifacts. Jim was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Alice Ann Fox and Katherine Fox Fanger. He is survived by his two sisters, Connie Goldman of Cape Elizabeth and Mary Fox of Florida; brother, Thomas F. Fox of Westbrook; 6 nephews and 2 nieces. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Cottage at Gorham House for all the kind and compassionate care they gave to Jim over the years. They also would like to thank the staff at Sol Amor Hospice for all of their help and continued support. A 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Holy Cross Church, Corner of Broadway and Cottage Road, South Portland. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.Online condolences may be expressed below.
