SOUTH PORTLAND - Susan Paula Fox, 50, of South Portland, died September 13, 2011 in Scarborough, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born July 6, 1961 in Caribou, Maine, a daughter of Donald Norman and Lillian Germaine Guy Lamore. Susan was educated in local schools and was a 1979 graduate of Caribou High School. She continued her education, graduation from Husson College and University of Southern Maine at Gorham. Susan was a people person who excelled in the restaurant business working as a waitress, bartender, manager and general manager. Her 30 year career in this field included working as the bar manager for the Ground Round Restaurant from the mid 1980's until the restaurant closed. Since 2001 Susan has worked as a general manager for Ruby Tuesday Restaurant. She retired earlier this year due to ill health. On October 7, 1989, Susan married Kenneth M. Fox in Portland. Together they raised three sons. Family was her greatest joy in life. She was proud of her children and was affectionately known as a soccer mom. Susan enjoyed attending Ben's Concerts. Susan also enjoyed gardening, loved the beach and ocean. She was a member of Kappa Iota Sorority at USM. She was predeceased by her parents. Surviving are her husband Ken of South Portland; three sons: Ben, Nate and Danny Fox, all of South Portland; two sisters: Diane L. Hoyt and her husband Jim of Redlands, CA and Connie Lamore of Hampton, NH and a brother, Jeff Lamore and his wife, Nikki of Saco. Also are her father and mother-in-law, Ken and Theresa Fox and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation from 4-7 pm, Saturday, September 17 at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. She will greatly be missed by all.
