South Portland- Mr. Robert J. Earles, 53, of South Portland, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Portland on August 27, 1961, Bob was the son of Robert E. and Flora A. (DiBiase) Earles. He graduated from South Portland High School Class of 1980. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed riding dirt bikes and he excelled at playing baseball. Bob worked for the City of South Portland for nearly 10 years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Above all else, Bob will be remembered as having a big heart and a loving and genuine way about him. His family and many friends will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his mother and best friend, Flora Earles. Bob is survived by his father, Robert E. Earles of South Portland; companion, Johanna Martin of Portland; sisters, Cathy Lestage and husband John Jr. of Standish, Carol Newcomb and husband Donald Jr. of South Portland, and Cindi Earles and partner Brenda Day of South Portland. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Amanda, Kaylee, Donny III, Colby, Nicole, Greg and great-nephew, Dexter. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Janine and all of the staff of Hospice of Southern Maine for the compassionate care provided to Bob. Visiting Hours will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 10AM-12PM at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Following the visiting hours, a Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home at 12PM. Private burial at Calvary Cemetery will be held at a later date.
