Roy Arthur Ducharme

SOUTH PORTLAND - Roy Arthur Ducharme, 59, of South Portland, died peacefully August 13, 2012 at Maine Medical Center. He was born November 5, 1952 in Portland, a son of Romeo Ducharme and Virginia Messer Ducharme Higgins. Roy was a 1971 graduate of Stearns High School in Millinocket. He attended Tech school in Presque Isle. He worked at the Sheridan Inn by the Mall, now the Double Tree for 40+ years. He found an autographed room service receipt after Elvis stayed there. Roy was a music lover and was fond of the Beatles and Elvis. He was a collector of music items. He was predeceased by his parents. Surviving are: three brothers; David C. Ducharme of Sebago, William Ducharme of Hancock, Bruce Campbell of Portland, and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be private at Forest City Cemetery, South Portland. Arrangements handled by Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland.
