Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Dear Devine Family,
Mary Jo was my nurse during frequent trips to Mercy Hospital pediatric unit as a child. She was my favorite nurse. My parents adored her. When my parents died several years ago, she remembered my parents and sent Mass Cards in remembrance. She was lovely and a wonderful nurse. My condolences on your loss of Mary Jo.

  3. I have so many fond memories of Mary Jo.
We worked together in Pediatrics at Mercy Hospital in the 60’s
I was a new graduate and I benefited from her knowledge and skills.
Mary Jo was a consummate nurse and she loved children.
Devoted to her faith, and her family, she was a beautiful person inside and out.
She was a loyal friend to my sister-in-law, Betty who died last May-they truly had an enduring friendship.
Those of us who knew Mary Jo will cherish her memory.
I am so sorry for your loss

  4. I met Mary Jo when we were both students at Cathedral High School. Then our paths diverged when she went to Mercy Hospital to train as a nurse,, and I entered the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Mercy.
I reconnected with her about two years ago, when a Sister friend was bringing her Communion at her home on North St.. I went along w to visit Mary Jo a few times, and we corresponded at Christmas and Easter. She was a truly beautiful woman with her kind and caring personality. I was able t o visit her in her illness at Cedars, and later at the Veterans Home. I was hopeful because she seemed to be improving there, so I was shocked at her passing. Mary Jo proved her strong faith by being her own sweet self in spite of her suffering. I know she is receiving a rich reward in heaven for her lifelong kindness to others, her family, friends, and all the patients she cared for in her nursing career.
