South Portland-Joanne D. Coyne, 83, of Ridgeland Avenue, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Portland on February 6, 1932, a daughter of Joseph D. and Margaret M. (Ridge) Meehan. She attended Portland High School. She married John C. Jack Coyne on July 7, 1951, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Portland. Joanne worked as a CNA in hospitals and private practice. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, shopping, cruising, traveling to see family, and trips to Ireland and Hawaii. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She is predeceased by her husband Jack; two sisters, Margaret Mary Brown and Lucia Agnes Linton; a brother, Joseph D.Meehan Jr.; longtime companion, Robert G. Hasson Sr.; daughter-in-law, Gina Coyne; and best friend, Faye Joyce. She is survived by two daughters, Theresa A. and husband Reginald Conohan of South Portland and Margaret F. and husband Albert Wilkes of South Portland; two sons, John J. Coyne of South Portland and Kevin J. Coyne of South Portland; twin sister, Ann Mosley of Portland; a brother, Thomas Toppy and wife Wanda Meehan of Fresno, California; six grandchildren, Heather Seavey, John Coyne, Lauren Conohan, Shannon Bragdon, Bridget Card, and Alex Bragdon; and four great grandchildren, Quincy Seavey, Sydney Seavey, Dakoda Coyne, and Delaney Coyne. Visiting hours will be 4:00 7:00 pm, Tuesday, at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited 10:15 am, Wednesday, at the chapel followed by an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. You were a wonderful Mother, wife and friend to so many. You did so much for Heather, Johnny and myself over the years. We will be forever grateful for your genorosity and kind caring heart. We were blessed to have you in our lives and will miss you more than words can say. You were one hell of a lady. we love you Nee Jo.
