PORTLAND - Leo P. Carrier, 77, following a brief illness of cancer died on May 30, 2012, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice, in Scarborough. Leo was born in Portland, the eldest of 7 children of Romeo J. and Antoinette Spaltro Carrier. He attended local schools and served eight years in the U.S. Army. Leo retired from General Electric and worked for many years at the Windham Correctional Center. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church. In his retirement, Leo enjoyed visiting his friends daily at the Maine Mall, was an avid walker, a big Patriots and golf follower and enjoyed watching the ponies run at Scarborough Downs. Leo is survived by 6 siblings; Raymond and wife Noreen, of Scarborough; Romeo (Sonny) and wife Shelagh, of So. Portland; John and wife Constance, of Las Vegas, NV; Victoria and husband John Sullivan, of Kittery; Donald and partner Rene DeGuzman of Las Vegas, NV; Marie and husband Terrance Wogan, of Scarborough; and 14 nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, June 7th from 9 - 10:30 AM at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, So. Portland; followed by prayers. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, So. Portland. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Hospice of Southern Maine, 180 US Route 1, STE 1, Scarborough, Maine 04074.Online condolences may be expressed below.

  1. Sorry I lost touch with my friend. Wonder now why our paths havent crossed. At first I wasnt sure it was him, but kept lookg at that smile. The colored picture confirms it is him. I was thinking he is 8 yrs older, but with August birthday, that would be right. It has been 40 odd years with fond memories. Unfortunately I can’t make the services, but would like to visit his grave when I am over there to visit family. My sympathy to you all. EIleen (37 Hartley St Portland,Me 04103
