Windham- Jeannette T. LeBlanc, 95, formerly of Unity Gardens in Windham, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, her loving family by her side.
Jeannette was born in Sanford, Maine on May 6, 1923 the daughter of the late Augure and Anastasia (Bougie) Fournier.
On November 11, 1943, Jeannette married Francis D. LeBlanc at Holy Family Church in Sanford, Maine.
Jeannette worked for several years at Fairchild Semiconductor before moving to Sanford to care for her ailing father. She then worked at Sprague Electric until retiring in 1983. She will long be remembered as a very hard worker.
She was a lifelong communicant of the Catholic Church, and a member of the Sanford VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
In her spare time she enjoyed bingo, cards, and going on bus tours. Her greatest passion was spending time visiting family. She was well known for her spaghetti and meatballs and for her pork pies at Christmas. Jeannette always had an open door policy at her home where everyone was welcome. She will always be remembered as a very gracious person who would send cards to family for every occasion, always including a dollar bill. She will long be remembered as a sweet, gentle, hardworking woman that was also very caring. She lived by her own motto "hard work never hurt anyone".
Jeannette was predeceased by her husband Francis D. LeBlanc in 1967; a sister, Cecile Morin; a brother, Albert and his wife Lea Fournier; a sister in law, Lorette Fournier. She is survived by two daughters, Connie and her husband Bob Gendreau of South Portland and Isabelle and her husband Lloyd Gilman of Windham; a brother, Henry Fournier of Berwick; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour, celebrating Jeannette's life will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30am at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be recited at 10:30am followed by an 11:00am Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
