Gary P Collins

October 25, 1950 ~ September 1, 2018
Harpswell, ME- Gary Patrick Collins, 67, passed away peacefully among loved ones on September 1, 2018.
A Nahant native, "Gar" was a proud graduate of St. Mary's High School in Lynn, MA, class of 1968, and a distinguished alumnus of Williams College class of 1972.
After a successful business career and a brief Florida retirement, he relocated to idyllic Harpswell, Me., to be near family again.
He joins his parents, Dorothy and Frank, his brother Gregory, his darling bride Ellen, and his favorite dogs, Norton and Finn McCool, in the afterlife.
He is survived and remembered adoringly by his doting daughter, Caitlin Aylward and her husband Daniel; a grandson, Van Aylward; a brother, Kevin Collins and his wife Birgitte; a nephew, Sean Collins; and a brother-in-law Chris Powers.
Caitlin's endless love, care, and support allowed him many more years of family memories, the most important to him being those with Van, who dubbed Gar "Baba," which Van yelled repeatedly with glee while spending many mornings singing along with "Sesame Street" and "Mother Goose Club" over Cheerios and apple fritters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Kelley Greens in Nahant, MA on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 11:30am to 2:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME. To view Gary's memorial page, or to share an online condolence, please visit www.ConroyTullyWalker.com
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N. Main St., Chamberlain, SD 57325 or the Coastal Humane Society, 30 Range Rd., Brunswick, ME 04011.
May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. My most sincere condolences. With heartfelt sympathy Psalm 46:1 and Acts 24:15.
