Portland - Terrence D. Fox, 71, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 24, 2021.
Terry was born on October 6, 1949 to Thomas and Barbara Fox. Terry moved to South Portland at the age of 15, where he graduated from South Portland High School, Class of 1967. He then got a degree in auto mechanics from SMVTI in South Portland.
It was during his High School years that he met the love of his life, Deborah Hunnewell. They were married in 1969 and Terry attributed his success in an all supportive partnership to his wife, Deb.
From his first "Rootie Kazootie", drum set at the age of three, to the impromptu get together with friends and family, Terry made joyful music entertaining us all. His musical career began at age 15 when he joined the local band "Spellbound", setting the pace for older more experienced musicians with his drumming. He then moved on to the band "Zoodirt" and toured the U.S. as well as Canada.
Terry strove to be a positive influence on others, while maintaining a peaceful soul. His heart was big enough to be a father to those beyond his own family. Being always available, at a moment's notice to be there for those in need. "Eventually when the pain begins to fade, all the memories of him will spark more smiles and laughs than tears. No one is ever truly gone while there's someone to remember them. Terry was unforgettable! Terry you are my sunshine!"

I was deeply saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. We worked together in the office at Oceanview. He called me Professor Higgins from a tribute to My Fair Lady. I loved his sense of humor. I always enjoyed talking to him about life’s issues and challenges. I send my deepest sympathy to you all. Jane Higgins

You are in my thoughts.

You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on and always look back and remember and smile.
