Paris – Stephen Vaughan, 65, of Paris, Maine, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025. Born on December 1, 1959, in Portland, Maine, Stephen was the beloved son of the late William C. and Mary E. Vaughan, Jr.
Stephen grew up in Portland Munjoy Hill and attended Portland High School. After completing his education, he embarked on a career as a shipper and receiver. Later, he worked at Better Plumbing by Farr Inc, where he developed a passion for the trade, working closely with a dear friend.
Stephen had a lifelong love for cars, particularly his cherished Ford Torino and Chevrolet Chevelle. He spent countless hours tinkering with his vehicles with close friends, always finding joy in their upkeep and performance. His hobbies also included playing pool at local pool halls, listening to rock music, putting together model cars, snowmobiling, and dirt biking. These pastimes brought him great happiness and formed the basis of many lasting friendships.
Above all, Stephen treasured time spent with his family. He especially cherished his time with his daughter, Heidi and his 3 grandchildren. He relished family cookouts, dinners, holidays and other family gatherings where his laughter and stories brought everyone together. His love for his family was unwavering, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Stephen is survived by his loving daughter, Heidi Hendrickson; his 3 grand sons, Jacob, Anthony and Mason Montalvan; his niece, Rebecca Vaughan; his aunt, Sandra MacDonald; his uncle, Joseph Thompson; and many cherished cousins.
Services for Stephen will be private, in accordance with his wishes. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland.
