Dawn M. Berke

Portland- Dawn M. Berke, 82, of Portland died peacefully onJune 23, 2015 following a long illness. Dawn was born in Brewer, Maine on June 10, 1933 the daughter of the late Charles B. Mallory and Vera Goff Douglass. She was graduated from Western High School in Washington, DC. She was a flight attendant with American Airlines based in Dallas TX,where she married and lived for many years before moving to Maine in 1972. She was an avid reader who was most comfortable when she had a book in her hand. She enjoyed traveling and had seen many destinations over the years. Her greatest love was the time she spent surrounded by her family and friends. Dawn was predeceased by her son Jason Berke. She is survived by her sons Jack and his wife Cherie Berke of TX and James Berke of ME; her sister Clythie Hinnant of VA; her brother Charles I. Mallory and his wife Geri Lee of VA; granddaughters Shawnee Berke of ME and Kristine Berke of TX; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 20, 2015 at 2:30pm at the Eastern Cemetery, Route 25, Gorham, ME.
