Sophie Maria (Heine) Elgner

PORTLAND - Sophie Maria Theresia (Heine) Elgner, 94, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Ledgewood Manor in Windham. Sophie was born November 22, 1919 in Germany and raised in Austria, daughter of the late Heinrich and Sophie Heine. She moved to New York City in 1968 where she lived for several years before moving to Maine in 1998. Prior to moving to Maine, Sophie worked as a Governess in New York City. She was deeply loved by her family. Sophie was predeceased by her first husband, Johan Renzl in 1962 and also by her second husband, Kurt Elgner in 1975. She is survived by her daughter Anita Isgro, granddaughter Nicola Isgro, and great-granddaughter Emily MacNichol all of Portland. Graveside Services for Mrs. Elgner will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 2PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Stevens Ave, Portland.
