CAPE ELIZABETH - Alice Veilleux Nicol, 89, of Cape Elizabeth passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2014 with her family by her side. Alice was born in Waterville, Maine on January 24, 1925 the daughter of Louis Philippe and Valeda Labbe Veilleux. She attended local schools in Waterville and graduated from the University of Maine. Alice was a World War II veteran of the United States Navy Waves. Alice worked as a Department Manager for Archives at the State of Maine, retiring in the early 90's. She was a lifelong communicant of the Catholic Church and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign War. Alice was predeceased by her first husband Armand Fleury. She was predeceased by her second husband Francis D. Nicol in 1999; two brothers and five sisters. Alice is survived by two daughters Audrey and her husband Richard Klausner of Brownfield, ME and Catherine Fleury and her husband James Uchneat of South Carolina; two sons Philip and his wife Brenda Fleury of MT. Vernon and Michael and his wife Joanne Fleury of MT. Vernon; two brothers Dr. Lucien Veilleux and Lionel Veilleux; three sisters Evelyn Proulx, Delia Dutil and Jeanne Seile; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Plummer Funeral Home 16 Pleasant Street, Augusta, ME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 12:30pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 41 Western Ave., Augusta, Me. Burial will follow at 2:00pm at the Old Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, ME. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME.
