PORTLAND - Thomas John Minervino, 71, of Portland, died on his birthday, March 26, 2014, peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 26, 1943 in Portland a son of Joseph J. and Loretta M. Martin Minervino. Thomas was educated locally and was a graduate of Portland High School. Following school, Tom enlisted and served for eight years in the United States Navy in submarine service. He was employed by Eastern Book and later by Irwin Tool Company as a manager retiring in 2002 after more than 20 years of service. He married Shujun Zhang September 25, 2010 in Nanjing, China. Tom's hobbies included going to Scarborough Downs and playing cards. His greatest love, however, was the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Bernadette Minervino. Surviving are: his wife Shujun of Portland; three daughters, Tammy Bellino and her husband Ross of Standish, Tracey Minervino and her partner Maureen O'Malley of Bucksport, Jean Minervino and her fianc(c) Brian Peura of Portland; two sons, Thomas Minervino and Samuel Minervino, both of Portland; two sisters, Maryann Proulx and her companion Charles Phillips of Freeport, Jean Bowden of Portland; a brother, Joseph J., Jr. and wife Judy Minervino of Portland; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A 2:00 p.m. graveside service will be held on Friday, with Military Honors, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland, ME.
