PORTLAND - Assuntina Rose DeVito, 85, of Portland, died April 9, 2013 at her residence. She was born December 14, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, a daughter of Gerlando and Annunziata Zambutto Argento. Assuntina was educated in New York schools and was a 1945 graduate of Bushwick High School in Brooklyn. She worked as an Administrative Assistant to a Colonel in the Air Force for 27 years, retiring in 1972. Following her marriage to Frank R. DeVito at Sacred Heart Church, January 13, 1990, she moved to Maine. Assuntina attended St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of AARP. Assuntina enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, knitting and crocheting. She is predeceased by her parents; a sister, Phyllis Reggiori in 2000.Assuntina is survived by her husband Frank of Portland; a sister, Lillian Capraro of Phoenix, AZ and seven nephews. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, April 13th from 3-5 p.m. at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland.Online condolences may be expressed below.
