LAKEWOOD, NEW JERSEY - Barbara "Babs" A. Clark, 87, of Howell, and formerly of Portland, Maine, passed away peacefully with family at her side at Paul Kimbal Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Waterville, Maine, on February 13, 1925, the only child of William D. Sr. and Catherine A. (Boyd) Fardy. She was educated in Waterville schools and attended business college in Worchester, Massachusetts. She married Ernest G. Clark on January 30, 1950, and settled in Portland to raise their loving children Billy and Cheryl Ann. When Ernest passed away she moved to Howell where she lived in the home of her daughter Cheryl (Clark) Trueworthy. She attended St. Veronica's Church in Howell. She was a member of St. Josephs Parish in Portland and was overjoyed to have her daughter married there in 1974. She always watched the Red Sox from her son-in-laws favorite chair and fed goldfinches on the patio. With a faithful dog at her side, she looked after and guided the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cared deeply for her grandchildren Keith Clark Brian Clark in Maine along with the granddaughters in Jersey. As her Jersey Girls grew, she guided their spirituality and later scrutinized every suitor to make sure that Patty Fallon, Amy Ertel and Cathy Roth each had a good match. She never wavered in her complete love for family and she never lost her downeast accent. She is predeceased by her husband who died in 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Clark and husband William Trueworthy of Howell; a son William G.
