Stephen E. Fickett

GORHAM - Stephen E. Fickett, 56, of Gorham, died December 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born November 18, 1955 in Portland, the son of Frank W. and Joan A. Drown Fickett. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Portland High School. Following high school, Stephen served in the U.S. Navy. He was a communicant of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and served as a Lector. During his career, Stephen worked security at the Brunswick Naval Station and Portsmouth Naval Base, Maine Medical Center, Mercy Hospital and formerly worked seasonal for the Ogunquit Police Department. Currently he was working as a client service technician for The Opportunity Alliance formerly Youth Alternatives Ingraham at the State Street House. Stephen was predeceased by his mother, Joan in 2000; three sisters, Karen Fickett, 1962; Mary Kathleen Fickett, 1985; Rosanne O'Reilly, 1997 and a niece, Kara O'Reilly in 2010. Surviving are his father, Frank of Dunedin, FL; aunt, Bernice Profenno of Portland and two nephews, Erik O'Reilly of Portland and Ryan O'Reilly of San Diego, CA. Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21st at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited at 9:15 a.m. Thursday, December 22nd at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland.
