WESW WESTBROOK - Jill Elizabeth Gorham passed away peacefully at home July 8, 2015 after waging a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Jill was predeceased by her father, Charles Bruce and her brother Charlie. She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Dick; her daughter Kristin Larkin and husband Scot; her son Matthew Gorham and wife Katie; her mother, Mary Alice Bruce and five siblings; Mary Bruce, David Bruce and wife Pat; Peter Bruce; William Bruce and wife Helen; Robert Bruce and wife Lynda and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The loves of her life were her three wonderful grandchildren; Kate Larkin, Sam Larkin, and Ruby Gorham. They brightened each and every day and gave her great pride and much joy. Jill was a graduate of South Portland High School and attended the University of Southern Maine for several years. Before retiring and moving back to Maine, she served for many years as a kindergarten aide in the Willington, Connecticut school system. She was the primary caregiver to her parents for years and a devoted grandmother who cared for Kate and Sam before they reached school age. As they often told her and everyone else, their Mammy knew everything and provided anything they could ever want. Jill was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Her friendships reached far and wide and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at St. Anns Episcopal Church, 40 Windham Center Road, Windham, ME on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. Her family would like to thank the staffs of the New England Cancer Center and Hospice of Southern Maine for their loving care.
